This course provides a comprehensive introduction to badger ecology and the interpretation of field signs, and basic guidance on options available for the management of badger issues. Instruction will be from experts with over ten years experience working with badgers in research and management. A classroom session will cover fundamental badger ecology, survey and study methods, management and legal issues. A field session will provide practical instruction in the identification and interpretation of badger field signs, and demonstration of techniques such as sett activity surveys and bait-marking.
The course is endorsed by the UK Badger Trust.
